Merry Meet friends. What an interesting and fullfilling few weeks it has been. At the top of the list......i was blessed to have conducted a handfasting!! Life rocks, it was so nice to be able to do that for/with my friends. I was honoured to be asked and can't tell you what a wonderful experience it was. The energy was just fantastic. It was held on a beach and towards the end of the ceremony after the couple jumped over the besom, an enormous sea hawk came down and landed on the beach and just watched the rest of the ceremony......how nice is that?????? If anyone knows of any special meaning this might have, i would love to hear from you. The bride made me the most incredibly beautiful carved and embellished besom i have ever seen, it is spectacular. Unfortunately i couldn't bring it back on the plane and will have to collect it next time i drive down there. When i get it i will take photos and post on the site, it really is an amazing work of art and very special to me..
Now, for the rest of the time, i gardened and sewed and baked and thoroughly enjoyed my domestic goddess role. Work is going ok and i am looking forward to positive changes within it. Family are pretty good, though mum had a health scare, almost better now thank goodness.
Have added a couple of new friends to my list and have enjoyed reading some neat blogs. Well thats about all i have time for now.
Hi to you all, hope this finds you all in good health and humour? Life is going ok at the moment. The roses are flowering heavily and smell devine. Did some sewing today, made a gift for a friend and it turned out so nicely, i can't wait to give it to her. Am really enjoying having a long weekend, plan to sleep in a bit tomorrow and then go out to the lake and enjoy the air and the beautiful views. It always nurtures my soul to spend time just being comfortable on the earth and appreciating what it gives us, even the cold!!
Unfortuatley lost some of the fish in the outdoor pond with the cold. Have tried to catch and transfer most of them to a heated tank for the next couple of months but some of the little buggers are just too quick!! Wish they knew i was trying to save them and not kill them.
Went to a friends last night for a bbq and had other friends over to my place for dinner tonight, i really enjoy the company and chat. Planning a nice winter solstice ritual and have unpacked and aired my winter robe. I feel a new ritual tool is coming nearer for some reason at the moment, will have to keep an eye out for it, i think sometimes we are so busy with life that we don't see opportunities and gifts as they present themselves to us. I am not a great believer in the saying, "opportunity knocks", i believe it is constantly on offer, we just need to be open to it.
We continue to put out there for a nice bush block to buy as a retreat. Our plan is that it will come up around the end of the year. We just want something rustic and hope eventually to have a woodstove and solar power etc. I trust that just the right one will come up just at the right time for us.
Merry Meet all. Firstly i want to say a big hello and thank you to those of you who have welcomed me onto your friends list. I consider it a privelege and look forward to developing friendships with you. Thanks again. It is lovely to know there are some really nice people out there with similar beliefs and values as my own and i look forward to sharing and learning with each and every one of you.
Winter is upon us over here in Australia. I am enjoying the cool change so far, I don't like it when it is really cold, although it is the goddess way of the wheel of the year and so it turns! Gardening has been pleasant and fulfilling and i have a garden that is giving me roses and lavender and lots of other flowers and herbs to enjoy. My hens don't seem to be minding the cooler weather and are still laying really well. I have a car that has been undergoing restoration and is nearing roadworthy status at last, i can't wait to have it on the road for the first time. I have had one the same before but this time, it is a work in progress and i can make it truly my own. Very exciting for me. It is an old Nissan, anyway.....enough of the car talk!! I am looking forward to attending and participating in my friends handfasting in a month or so. I have been asked to participate in the ritual side of it, so am very flattered and excited. I am also looking forward to Winter Solstice later this mont and the blue moon at the end of the month.
Well you know what, that is about it for me and i look forward to keeping in touch with you all.
Today was just lovely, you could feel the chill in the air as winter gets closer. It is always so nice to feel the change coming and know that the wheel is turning in the neverending journey of life. We don't get much of a winter out here and i have to admit, i do prefer the warmer season but like the little chill on my skin as the days get shorter and the dark hours longer. It is nice also to be planting all the flowers that prefer the cold before they will give us the gifts of colourful blooms. I have planted some daffodils and petunias and torenos and am looking forward to seeing them come to flower. Our pooches prefer winter as well i think, they run around like mad without getting too hot!! If my usual pattern is to continue this year i will need to start setting the alarm to get out of bed in the mornings, i always seem to sleep late in winter. I guess without the sun coming in the window so early to wake me, and, of course snuggling up under the doona is so nice!! Well, i will leave it at that and wish you all the nicest of days. May you ever walk gently upon mother earth. Blessed Be
Merry meet. I am a pagan who enjoys keeping in touch with other people of similar belief or... those with different beliefs who are openminded enough to understand that we all follow our own path and our own journey and none of us are any better or more worthy than another. I have been involved in pagan life for a very long time and have had the opportunity to be part of a coven and also worked as a solitary and enjoy both and have met some truly wonderful people along the way. I hope to meet many more during this journey and look forward to sharing and learning for a long time yet. That will do i guess for my first post, so, blessed be
